Dagor dagorath mod1/31/2023 ![]() ![]() The tower of Isengard was an incongruously foreboding structure, akin to a black fork stabbing towards the heavens, amidst a temperate sea of fecundity. In the central circle of the University, orchards of sweet-smelling fruit trees and manicured herb gardens flourished about the base of the looming library of Orthanc. ‘The trees won their right to linger here, and it is not our place to depose them,’ the Doctor of History was fond of saying. So venerable and beautiful were these woods, the cobbled paths between blocks wound around them, for the Chancellor would brook no harm to come to the copses of Huorn. ![]() Between the buildings, great gardens and gentle green copses sprang up. It was a sprawling campus of idyllic buildings of handsome white stone some dating from the Reign of High King Estel it was claimed. The University of Isengard was situated about the very font of the Isen, as it streamed down from the Misty Mountains and flowed west to the sea. ![]()
